Distance & elevation: Expect a strenuous day (roughly 8.6-mile loop with 3,800ft of elevation gain). Prepare for steep sections, rocky ridgelines, and wind-exposed terrain.
Pace: Intentional and steady. We move as a unit; mutual accountability and safety first.
Timeframe: Early morning departure from camp. Full-day hike; plan for 6–8 hours round-trip depending on conditions and group pace.
Navigation: Trail maps are available online, and group leaders will carry topo maps, compass, and GPS on their person. We will provide a route briefing on Friday night. Everyone is expected to know basic route staying and follow leader instructions.
What to Bring (mandatory items)
Camping gear - tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag
Sturdy hiking boots with ankle support
Layered clothing for variable mountain weather (base, insulating mid-layer, waterproof wind shell)
Hat, gloves, and sun protection
Daypack - hip-belt variety is recommended
2–3 liters water and water treatment method / extra water if needed
High-calorie snacks and lunch (trail food that fuels sustained effort)
Headlamp with fresh batteries

No tolerance for substance impairment during hiking or leadership activities.
Leave no trace: pack out all trash, respect wildlife, and follow campground rules.
Meals

Saturday: bring a full trail lunch and snacks; group dinner back at camp (each campsite responsible for themselves).
Sunday: breakfast and camp break down. Bring coffee/heat source if desired.
Registration & Contact
